Holden Creek Farms
Committed to Quality, Pursuing Sustainability, and Venturing Down the Road Less Traveled. . .
Our small farm is nestled in the mountains of northern Georgia. It is our desire to get "back to the basics"... farming, gardening, and producing as much as we can... on our farm... for our family, while sharing the experiences along the way. It is our goal to learn, preserve, and share the traditions, skills, and values associated with rural farm life and self-reliance that are slowly being lost and forgotten.
Our Story
As our motto alludes, Holden Creek Farms has been, and continues to be a venture down the road less traveled… It has gone from a dream of a couple of young kids, to an experimental hobby, and has quickly become a way of life. It has been the result of many long days of hard work and late nights spent reading, researching, and planning. And we’ve had a lot of help along the way. Patrick and Sarah (McClure) Burnett are natives of Gilmer County. They began dating in high school and have been married since 2001. Ollie made it a trio in 2004, and Ivy added some spice in 2009! The farm sits on around 50 acres of its own and borders the McClure family farm, which has been in Sarah’s family for several generations. As the name implies, the farm has frontage along Holden Creek, which has its headwaters in the Rich Mountain Wilderness and is a tributary of the Cartecay River. The farm started with just three dairy goats, a dog, and eight laying hens. It’s come a long way. Our small family farm is a testament to values we hold dear and that have been passed down through the generations….a love and respect for one another and a deep connection to the land and animals we care for.
